No complaints about Day Girls as the smell has gone. GAJ explained that the ‘grease trap’ from the kitchen was cleared over the Xmas Holidays.
EF: Please can we have less prep set on-line as a number of teachers won’t let us use our phones in the set prep sessions. Boarders also only have access to a limited number of lap tops and also can’t use their phones in these prep sessions. Can prep sessions also be timetabled in ICT.
GAJ to send e-mail to staff to ask if this can happen.
CB: Please can the sandwiches be made with softer bread for away trips. It doesn’t matter if it is white or brown.
Catering Manager: We will see what we can do.
NE: Why is the Matlock bus always late. It is meant to pick us up at 7.40 am and regularly arrives at 7.55 am. This makes us late which is a bad start to the day.
CH: There is a broken window on our bus which is held together by tape. This is on the Stafford bus and can it be fixed please.
GAJ: The head is personally involved with the bus company in trying to make sure all buses are on time. GAJ will let the Transport Manager know about the window and they will contact the bus company.
JH: Please can we have some more ping pong balls in the CR. Female Friday is going well and is very much appreciated.
If you are short of ping pong balls either see Mrs Phillips or myself and we will provide you with them. Please look after them though.
KR: Please can staff make sure we leave our lessons on time as we get into trouble when we are late and a number of times it is not our fault. Please could we have some bells to signal the start and end of lessons.
GAJ: I will send an e-mail to teaching staff regarding letting you leave on time. Whilst we do not have bells you are remarkable with your time-keeping an we feel this is a good life skill to have rather than waiting for a bell to ring.
EF: Please can the water coolers be filled up more regularly.
Bursar: Yes, we do try and keep on top of it but sometimes the deliveries are late.
GAJ: If the water coolers have run out you can also use the taps around the school to fill up your water bottles.
SG: A lot of us are struggling with our vocab tests in French and Spanish.
This was brought up last time both Heads of Department have spoken with their departments about this and feel that vocab tests are a valuable part of making progress in languages. However, you should only spend the time allocated on your homework timetable learning them.
Pupils felt that the behaviour in class was good but the average score was 8/10. Some pupils are two chatty and cause a distraction whilst working. All the students felt safe around the school.
