Catering Views  Invited

·        Queue- students suggested that year groups could have different times to line up.

KAP said that this was already the case, but the first form had not perceived this, as they said there was always a queue of the years above when they arrive and people from the years above in front of them. They think this is still making some think they have to queue behind them or worried about going in front of them.

Action: SMT Clarified through tutors that students should not queue until their given time. P5 teachers asked to be prompt in letting students out so that first form arrive at their allocated time and not after other year groups.

·        Audrina would like less juice in fruit pots, however, others liked the juice.

Action: We discussed that this was a matter for varying tastes.

·        Really good feedback on the food. Students who had been in prep commented that it has improved even more over the last two years.

Action: This positive feedback was communicated to the catering team via email, which will be shared with the whole team.

·        Lyra prefers not to have cheese croissants as a ‘main dish’ in boarders’ breakfast. KAP pointed out the other options available if she did not like the main dish.

Action: Fed back to catering team

Comment on New Behaviour policy  – View  Invited

·        Very positive. HH (M) thinks that the change from CC to BR is positive, as it sounds ‘less harsh’ and the student feels that they have been less labelled and more able to make a constructive comeback from behaviour. ‘It feels more like a reflection than a punishment.’

Action: Feedback given to SMT

·        Audrina was concerned that you could get sanctions for not doing prep and first form are getting used to prep.

KAP explained that first form teachers usually offer a lot of support and help before issuing sanctions for missed deadlines.

Feedback:

Open to the floor

Comments invited on visiting speakers

LH and AHW both wanted fun lectures around science. AHW suggested the Francis Crook Science Institute, LH suggested Miranda Lowe

Action: This feedback was given to CSF

Feedback:

Pupil Point Raised: Break time activities

WJ suggested that no activity should be compulsory on a break, such as student Council. KAP told him it was voluntary and he may leave if he wished to, which he did.

KAP notes that first form are giving up their break to attend council.

KAP has thanked all attendees and provided lollies as rewards for those who came. They will receive group special mention in LSMeeting.

Feedback:

Pupil Point Raised

AHW suggested that there is a lot of walking around campus, could timetables be amended to make lessons closer together. KAP explained the complexity of timetabling and reassured council about walking times and teacher expectations around arrival times.

Feedback:

Pupil Point Raised

Lily Mae raised the phone policy, which she though was new.

Action: KAP Suggested to SMT to put the phone policy on Teams, in planners and in Lower School handbook for start of next academic year. Regular reminders through tutorials & meetings.

Feedback:

Pupil Point Raised

Emily was worried that the pavement near cricket pitches is too small and she is regularly pushed either onto grass or road by older pupils. All other attendees had experienced similar.

Action: KAP asked other Heads of school to raise in all school meetings and older students need to be more considerate of first form as they are passing them. KAP suggested any observations of specific students doing this should be passed on to staff.

Thank you to all who attended. The next meeting will be on Tuesday 18th November at 11AM in the Quiet area of the common rooms
